La Belle Juliette

Emmanuel Blondiau designed the identity of La Belle Juliette Hôtel Salon de Thé, set in Le Monde Sans. La Belle Juliette is a new hotel located in Paris’s Latin quarter. The hotel owners have worked closely with Emmanuel Blondiau, a talented graphic designer (under his company, Neutre) based in Belgium. Within months of collaboration, he built a magnificent graphic identity for this hotel, mainly using typography, revisiting the past and tradition. When you hold your menu in hands, you are transported in the 30’s or 50’s.

Ornaments, borders generally only seen on old type specimens are used with style and skills. The oranments and borders, generally used in typefaces specimens are used here with great style and expertise. The result is not an imitation but a today re-appropriation of the past. Its typically sort of things that as foundry we like very much to receive. Its a beautiful use of our typefaces, here Le Monde Livre together with Le Monde Sans.

Une promenade chez Juliette written by Jacqueline Baldran is set in Le Monde Livre, designed by Emmanuel Blondiau.
