Throughout this 2014 year, designers have created for you specific wallpaper calendars, free to download and set in Typofonderie typefaces. Each month, it’s also a great opportunity to ask few questions our monthly guest designer. For the month of June 2014, it’s Michelle LeClerc who has chosen the Anisette, designed by Jean François Porchez. She answers to our questions.

Who are you?
My name is Michelle LeClerc. I am from Los Angeles, California.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by art, fashion, and illustration. But I’m not limited to just those things. I am greedy when it comes to inspiration. I can’t have too much.
Your favorite typeface?
For several years, I’ve had something of a font crush on Bodoni Poster. Even if I know it’s going to clash with a design, I still want to see it. It is like that first sip of orange juice after you brush your teeth. You know it’s going to taste weird, but you try it anyway, just in case it’s different this time.
Your favorite designer?
I can’t tell you my favorite, but I can tell you what motivated me to become a designer. It was punk rock album covers from the 80s and 90s. I used to spend long hours sitting in my room and reading the booklets over and over again. I had the most fun cutting pictures out of magazines to make mixed tapes for all of my friends.
Name your favorite book?
My favorite book is The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. It has been for a very long time. The story revolves around an electronic book that acts as a guide for a fictional universe, full of insanity, bureaucratic aliens, and digital watches. The words, “Don’t Panic” are written in large, friendly letters on the cover. Though the world we live in is slightly less ridiculous than the one Douglas Adams depicts in his books, I still find “Don’t Panic” to be sage advice.
Your favorite place in the world?
I have never been to Geneva, Switzerland, but I am heading there soon, and have a feeling it’s going to be my new favorite place! Of the places I have been, there’s a little resort in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico called Endemico. It’s one of those beautiful areas where pictures won’t do it justice.
