Jean François Porchez, chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et Lettres
Fleur Pellerin, Minister of Culture and Communication has delivered on 9 April 2015 to Jean François Porchez, typeface designer, the knight badge in the order of Arts and Letters, in recognition of his significant contributions to the arts, literature, or the propagation of these fields in favor of French culture.
Jean François Porchez is the founder of Typofonderie, type director of ZeCraft. He is honorary President of the Association Typographique Internationale (was ATypI President in 2004–2007). Introduced to French Who’s Who in 2009. In 2014, Perrousseaux editor has published his monograph. The knight’s badge in the Order of Arts and Letters, established in 1957, has already been given to some French typographers such Adrian Frutiger, Jérôme Peignot, Alan Marshall, Étienne Robial. On the 9 April 2015, the graphic designer Anette Lenz and and typographer Pierre di Sciullo also received the knight’s badge in the Order of Arts and Letters.
