TDC 57, Lecture at Lille Art Fair
On Sunday 15 April 2012, Jean François Porchez is invited by the ECV design school for a lecture at the Lille Art Fair. This lecture is in connection to the TDC 57 exhibit presented at Lille Art Fair, France.
Three publications about type
During the past months, several publications are escaped from our vigilance. The first of them is the Type Navigator. This book published in September 2011 is more than just a compilation of portfolio of digital typeface foundries.
In use: La Belle Juliette
La Belle Juliette is a new hotel located in Paris’s Latin quarter. The hotel owners have worked closely with Emmanuel Blondiau, a talented graphic designer (under his company, Neutre) based in Belgium. Within months of collaboration, he built a magnificent graphic identity for this hotel, mainly using typography, revisiting the past and tradition.
TDC 57, Lecture in Nantes
On Monday 19 March 2012, Jean François Porchez is invited by the ECV design school for a lecture open to everyone (free entrance). This lecture is in connection to the TDC 57 exhibit in Nantes, France.
In use: Reset the City of Hertogenbosch
Marloes van Dijk, from Studio Daad, created a book for a group of architects from their city of Hertogenbosch. They already used Parisine Plus for another project last year, and they love the typeface! The new theme was “Reset the City.”
Lectures + workshop in Los Angeles
After a week in Seattle, Jean François was invited in Los Angeles. The welcome was fantastic. Kali Nikitas, Chair of the Communication Arts department at Otis College of Art and Design concocted a short program including a typeface workshop, a critic session in the type design program…
Angie Sans goes Pro
Designed in 1998, first released in 1994, Angie Sans offers itself a new youth and become Pro for your pleasure. At the time the design was created by hands on tracing paper. Few months later, the one weight font was submitted to the Morisawa Awards and won the Brattinga prize in 1990.
Lectures in Seattle
As part of the typeface design workshop program organised up by Karen Cheng, Jean François Porchez was invited to gives three lectures during his stay in Seattle in February 2012.

Few photos from the current exhibition in Paris “La typo dans tous ses états (Typography in all its forms)” have been posted. Its a collective exhibition of typographers, graphic designers and photographers, in partnership with Imprimerie nationale’s “Atelier du Livre d’art et de l’Estampe” and Graphê magazine.
Typofonderie changes
