Presenting 50 years of type design was not an easy task. Albert Boton’s career was indeed long and very prolific. He was born in 1932 in Paris. His father was a carpenter so he grew up in the smell of glue and wood chips. Nothing predisposed him to become a type designer and yet that’s when he joined his father’s workshop that he discover type design.
Since 2009, Typofonderie propose webfonts through his Typekit partner (also via WebINK). Such services are the best way to use easily fonts on the web, their interface works really easily. Each page (on Details tab) of our typeface catalog propose links to Typekit pages when available. Few days ago, Typekit added new fonts to their catalog.
Its interesting to see a group of students producing a video about font piracy in design schools. Conducting interviews of various people from students — who actually use illegal fonts — to typeface designers, teachers and so on. Its a good topic about something that many people doing everyday (& not only students), without speaking and saying anything about it. Based on what I have understand from this nice video, is that learning more about the value of typefaces will help a lot. A step to the right direction.
Only 5 days left until the new year 2013. This year has been fantastic for us, a structural change, a new website, the first published not in-house designer, moving to a new place, etc. It seemed so interesting to you share our pleasure. Would not it be a good idea to offer you some special offers before the last of last, the 31 December 2012?
Since we moved earlier this month, some friends asked to see how looklike our new place. Here it is in images. We are still in Clamart but closer to the train station which is about 6 minutes by train from the Gare Montparnasse. The team is very happy with the move, great space, good lighting, and a bonus room dedicated to our library, including a comfortable sofa, we all promised to use in order to fall asleep with a good book about typography in hands.
